SUZUKI ON THE SHORE
About Suzuki on the Shore
Suzuki on the Shore was founded by Rachel Walker Braly in 2007. By the end of the first year of teaching, Rachel had a small studio of about 13 Twinklers. Since then, the studio has grown to add teachers Milly Rout in 2017 and Kate Ellingham-Hunt in 2022.
The studio is founded on the principles of Shinichi Suzuki, and all teachers in the studio are trained and registered through the NZ Suzuki Institute. Our students are able to participate in Local, National, and International Suzuki events which provides opportunities to learn with children and teachers from all over the world.
With the accessibility of online learning, our students are spread all throughout New Zealand and we even have students in Europe and the United States.
The studio has seen our students represented in every major youth orchestra in New Zealand including NZSSSO, NYO, AYO and more. We have also had finalists in the NZ Chamber Music Competitions, KBB School Orchestra Competitions, the High Scorers in ABRSM and Trinity exams.
But most of all, we are really proud of the community of parents, students, and teachers that our studio represents.
