All Suzuki on the Shore teachers are registered Suzuki teachers with the NZ Suzuki Institute and committed to ongoing training and development.

Studio Founder, Violin and Viola Teacher
Rachel Walker Braly
Rachel began studying violin through the Suzuki Method as a child along with her 6 younger brothers and sisters. Rachel went on to study at the Florida State University and completed her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. She has completed all Levels of Suzuki Teacher Training for Violin and has over 20 years of experience teaching Suzuki violin. In 2006, Rachel moved to New Zealand and founded Suzuki on the Shore. She is also the mother of 2 teenage boys who study violin. Rachel has taught at over 100 workshops, festivals, and chamber music programmes in the United States and New Zealand. Rachel has been a Board member for the NZ Suzuki Institute and Suzuki Association of Georgia in the United States.

Violin and Viola Teacher, ECE Teacher
Milly Rout
Milly grew up on Waiheke Island and studied violin through the Suzuki method, as well as traditional piano. She completed her DipABRSM in performance violin with distinction. Milly began teaching Suzuki violin in 2011 while studying towards her Masters in Biomedical Science at Auckland University which she completed in 2015. She enjoys working with preschool children and trained as a Suzuki ECE teacher in 2018. Milly teaches at camps and workshops all around New Zealand and continues to undertake Suzuki teacher training and professional development. As well as playing and listening to music, Milly’s interests include cooking, reading, yoga, and gardening.
